Authors: Tips for launch day to increase your chances of becoming a #1 Amazon bestseller

Here are more proven strategies for Book Launch Day! If you missed my blog from last week with tips for planning your launch, then I suggest you take a moment and read it here

This week I’m sharing some tips for launch day to increase your chances of becoming a #1 Amazon bestseller:

  • ASK everyone you know to purchase your book on ONE specific date.
  • WATCH YOUR RANKINGS! Amazon rankings are updated hourly. You don't want to miss your moment on the bestsellers list! Find the rankings on your book detail page on Amazon. Just scroll down the page and the rankings will be there. Note: only three categories will show at one time. Remember to “refresh” your screen so the most recent rankings appear.
  • Do screen captures hourly. This way you can use these graphics on social media and via email to involve your community and let them know how things are going and if you need more support.
  • Encourage people to purchase the book (and share the link with their friends).
  • Ask your book contributors and ambassadors for their help in getting the word out on launch day. Give them pre-written text and a graphic of your book cover to make it easy for them to promote you.
  • The day AFTER the book launch, say something like… “It's not too late!” If you’ve already purchased a copy… thank you! If not, can you please purchase a copy now [insert link] to help keep the momentum going on Amazon? I greatly appreciate your support.
